While
The Day Court captured the enchantress half of the shield, the
Night Court managed to get the half emblazoned with a Knight. This gives them the power to create
Kishinen, transforming magical knights. The Night Court targets teenaged boys who are able see them; those boys who are depressed, violent, or otherwise disturbed make the most ideal Kishinen.
Of course, just because a person is unhappy doesn't mean they're willing to sow unhappiness among others. For this reason, Night Court fae draw up contracts with their kishinen; for every year and a day a Kishinen serves them up until they turn 18, the boy will receive a wish. A wish from a Night Court fae, however, may have unintended consequences...
Because the shield was originally created by the Day Court fae, Kishinen powers are still divided along the same house lines that
Mahoujo are--
Sweets, Gem, Flower, Animal, Element, and Music.. Their powers and their souls, however, are tainted by the Night Court's influence, and this taint reflects itself in their costumes. Unlike
Mahoujo, who primarily fight through ranged attacks, Kishinen typically use melee attacks and throw themselves into the thick of a fight.
